Description
A shorter and a longer route provide information about viticulture, the forest, and the natural landscape around the Remiger Bützberg. The mountain, with its flat plateau and steep slopes, belongs to the Tafeljura. The vineyards, fields, and forests are an attractive local recreation area – for humans and animals. Forestry manages several nature conservation projects on around 43 hectares of forest. Diverse forest edges, old wood islands, an oak forest reserve, and a pine forest perimeter offer valuable habitats for rare animal and plant species. Special tree species such as wild service tree, snowberry, wild pear, field maple, Norway maple, wild pear, and yew are promoted.
Themes along the shorter vineyard route: viticulture and Roman vineyard, species-rich meadows, brush piles, open pine forest, forests of the future, hedges, rock walls
Themes along the longer forest route: Roman vineyard, species-rich meadows, brush piles, forest edge, oak rejuvenation, core perimeter oak forest reserve Schwändi-Bützberg, open pine forest
