Description
From Welschenrohr, the path leads via Cholholz to the Wolf Gorge. The Wolf Gorge is a cantonal nature reserve and here reveals the immense forces of nature. The path leads upward through the narrow, wild-romantic gorge with caves and erosions, between high, partly overhanging rock walls. At the end of the ascent, the Wolf Gorge is left via a narrow passage. Over wonderful Jura meadows, the path goes via Chuematt to Upper Tannmatt. The mountain inn offers hikers on the second Jura ridge hearty, traditional dishes to strengthen them for the further path. The mountain cheese from the in-house dairy and the tasty cheese slices are very popular. Along the ridge, the path leads to Zentner. A little further on, the cozy mountain inn Güggel with a large garden terrace awaits tired hikers. Those who have fortified themselves with a fine sausage or a refreshing ice cream can get from here via Sunneberg to Passwang. The path leads over Schelten Pass, the mountain inn Vorder Erzberg, Barenflue, via Hinter Beibelberg to Passwang and to the Alpenblick restaurant, where the post bus also stops. This route takes a long time but is rewarding. You will be rewarded with an insight into life on the summer farms and mountain inns.
