Description
From Wasserfallen, the route continues over the Vogelberg and the Passwang heights to Hinter Beibelberg. On the northern side of the Sunnenberg, it continues to the mountain restaurant Vorder Erzberg at the border to the Thal Nature Park. Here you can enjoy a small refreshment on the terrace. Then follows the ascent to the Hohe Winde. From here, you have a magnificent view of the Vosges, the Black Forest, and as far as the Valais Alps. The hut of the Thierstein Ski Club is open to guests on summer weekends. After that, the hiking trail descends about 600 meters through forest and clearings and leads past the Chlosterhof to Beinwil. A short detour to the old hammer mill is worthwhile, as it still bears witness to the importance of the former ore industry. This stage ends at Beinwil Monastery, which was founded in 1100 by the local nobility. Hikers are also welcome to stay overnight at the monastery (by prior arrangement), and those who wish can participate in the life of the ecumenical community residing there.
