Viamala South Circular Hike

At the hiking signpost about 250 m south of the Viamala Gorge visitor center, the mountain trails 'viaSpluga' and 'transviamala' lead down to Punt da Suransuns, where the Hinterrhein is crossed on a suspension bridge. On the right side of the Hinterrhein, the trail continues to Rania. Across the bridge at Rania, we return to the other side of the river and start the return journey.

Following the river downstream, we follow the signposts towards the Viamala Gorge. Midway, the trail leads up to the cantonal road, which is crossed. Then it continues uphill towards Val Baselgia and over Sant Ambriesch back down to the Viamala Gorge visitor center.

The circular hike can also be done in the opposite direction.
