Via Sett 5: Over the Septimer Pass

From Bivio, you ascend gently through the high mountain landscape of Val Tgavreta up to the Septimer Pass. There, you are rewarded with panoramic views of the Bergell Alps. On the steep descent to Casaccia, you walk over paved historic trail sections. Then follows a comfortable hike through the Bergell to Vicosoprano, the destination of the penultimate stage and the largest town in the Bergell.

Information on the condition of the Via Sett:

• All hiking trails below 2200m are easily passable.

• Due to the instability of the rocks in the Boca Naira area above Casaccia, the path to Alp Maroz Dora and the Septimer Pass is closed until further notice. A detour for hikers and mountain bikers is signposted. Mountain bikers must dismount for this section. Good footwear and hiking poles are recommended.

• The detour is not passable for horses.
