Via Jacobi (Weinfelden – Fischingen)

With nearly seven hours of hiking time, this section requires good stamina. However, it can be shortened by a short ride between Weinfelden and Bettwiesen with the S10 train running every half hour.

This hike starts in Weinfelden and joins the Via Jacobi at the hamlet of Holzhäusern. The route leads via Affeltrangen past Tobel, where the former Knights Hospitaller commandery is located, to the Chapel of St. Margaretha. Further along, you reach the Engel Inn in Sirnach, where recognized pilgrims receive a free soup as a pilgrim meal. Past the well-known St. Martin chapel in Oberwangen, the pilgrimage route finally leads to Fischingen Monastery.
