Via Glion Stage 2: Siat - Andiast

A fire pit on the hiking trail and two fire pits on Lake Panix (with barbecue grills, wood) invite you to picnic. The unusual historical monument at the dam wall commemorates the retreat of Russian Field Marshal Suvorov, who lost many soldiers, horses and almost all his war material with his troops in 1799 as they fled from the French army while crossing the Panixer Pass in driving snow.

After the gentle ascent to Lake Panix (“Lag da Pigniu” in Rhaeto-Romanic) and the short walk around the romantically situated reservoir, you can marvel at the cascading waterfalls.
