Description
From Bernina Diavolezza, you hike along the pass road for a short distance before an alpine path branches off right to the bridge and leads on the other side into Val da Fain. Val da Fain is famous for its magnificent alpine flora and almost every square meter is inhabited by marmots. After a good half hour, you reach a fork. Now it goes steeply zigzag over alpine meadows and past marmot holes up to the rocks of Giand'Albris. After traversing the slope on the narrow path, the trail, secured with ropes, leads towards Fuorcla Pischa. After this effort, you deserve a rest and might even spot ibex in the rocks - the chances are good, as Piz Albris is home to one of the largest ibex colonies in Switzerland. The path continues through scree over Fuorcla Pischa. About halfway through Crasta Languard, the path turns left. After crossing the hollow, the path descends steeply to Lej Languard. From there, it is only about 30 minutes to Paradis Hut, where delicious cakes are served. Refreshed, you begin the descent to Pontresina. Tip: Discover the ibex paradise Pontresina. www.pontresina.ch/steinbock-paradies
