Description

This exciting hike takes us to two absolute highlights: First, we hike steadily uphill from the train station in Meiringen to the Reichenbach Falls. This is particularly well known to crime fiction lovers: because it was from here that the English master detective Sherlock Holmes plunged into the depths together with his archrival Moriarty in a story by Conan Doyle. But a visit to the waterfall is not only recommended because of the literary link: The 300-meter-high cascade with seven individual waterfalls is always an impressive sight.

The tour continues through the Aare Gorge: Over wooden planks and through tunnels, it goes directly along the rock with thunderous water masses.

As both excursion destinations are very popular, it is worth setting off early!
