Description

From Oberneunforn, the hiking trail leads south, continuing on a beautiful ramp to Niederneunforn. Here begins the great vineyard hike along the well-known Iselisberg. On this ridge trail, you enjoy unique views of the Thur valley and the distant Alps. A special feature is the many beautiful small vineyard houses along the route. The path now leads, partly through cool, botanically rich forest, to the former Carthusian monastery Kartause Ittingen in Warth. As a foundation, the Kartause is now a lively cultural and conference center and houses the Thurgau Art Museum as well as a restaurant and a shop with own products. From here, the path follows the Thur river, where signs of beavers can also be found. The hiking trail crosses the Thur on the Rohrer bridge and follows the Murg through the military training area to Frauenfeld station.
