Description
The path first crosses the newly created Murgauen Park and then follows the Murg to its confluence with the Thur. After crossing the Rohrer Bridge, there is a gentle ascent toward the Ittingen Charterhouse. Now the view opens to the expanses of the Thur Valley before the path reaches Uesslingen and crosses the Thur again there.
After crossing the Thur footbridge at Feldi, the cable-stayed bridge between Altikon and Niederneunforn is soon reached. Below this bridge, the hiking trail leads around the national floodplain protection area Schäffäuli to the hamlet Fahrhof and finally leaves the Thurgau territory heading toward the Gütighausen campground.
From Gütighausen, the path takes on a new character as it continues into the Zurich Wine Country. The numerous gravel banks invite you to linger. Always remaining on the right bank, various bridges can also be admired on this section. The goal of this last stage is Andelfingen.
