Description

The hiking trail leads steeply through the forest up to the Chabishaupt. The wooded hill lies on the border of the two cantons Thurgau and Zurich. Subsequently, you reach the Hochwacht. The circular hiking route continues via Niederwies through the forest on the narrow Tannegger ridge, which partially descends steeply, to the remains of the Tannegg castle ruins. After a steep descent, you reach the Kneipp spa resort Dussnang. Along the western side of the Murg valley, the path leads upward to the stage's destination, Fischingen monastery.

The Benedictine monastery in Fischingen is the only monastery still inhabited by monks in Thurgau. The monastery complex, whose origins date back to the 12th century, today also houses a seminar hotel, a restaurant, a brewery, a carpentry workshop, a cultural institution, and a school.
