Thurgau circular hiking route (Affeltrangen – Weinfelden)

From the street intersection in Affeltrangen, the Thurgau circular hiking route briefly follows the state road, but turns right about 200m before the Bollsteg towards Buecherstock. This is bypassed on a forest path, which occasionally offers a surprising view of the Kaltenbrunnen plain. You finally reach Schmidshof and continue to the railway line, along which you then reach the Heldbachtobel.

The path leads through the impressive Heldbachtobel down to the Furtbachtal, which is crossed by the imposing Bussnang Viaduct of the railway (256 meters long). On the way to the Thur, the route passes a small animal park. At the Gangelisteg there is a Schweizer Familie fireplace. From the Thur you get to the Fohlenweide, through Walkestrasse and along Schützenstrasse to Weinfelden station.
