Description
The hike begins at the Corcelles stop. The destination is not yet indicated on the signposts. Towards Seehof at the village exit, the path leads left following the yellow signpost. On a good field path, one crosses the calming Jura landscape past the La Tuf farm and reaches, partially crossing a pasture, Pâturage derrière. In this section, the trail markers are somewhat far apart, but the path is clearly recognizable. After the hamlet Oberi Hell, following a short final ascent, the highest point of the tour, Probstenberg, is reached, where there are numerous places to eat. Noteworthy is the magnificent panoramic view and the newly rebuilt historic dry stone wall. The path then leads to Hinter Brandberg, followed by a narrow path descending through forest to Lochboden. Shortly along the forest, then on a somewhat rougher path, it goes into the impressive, romantically wild Wolf Gorge belonging to the Thal Nature Park. Fascinating how the river has gradually carved into the limestone over time. The effects of time are also visible on the fallen trees. At the exit of the gorge, at the main road Balsthal-Welschenrohr, one can take the post bus to Balsthal or Gänsbrunnen train station.
