Through the Schwarzenburgerland

Description
A cheese dairy, a guesthouse, a schoolhouse, some farms and houses: many a Bernese farming village can be summed up like this – including Hinterfultigen. And even though some Bernese (let alone other residents of our country) are convinced that this synonym for provinciality is probably just an invention: Hinterfultigen does indeed exist. The hiking trail to it starts at the train station Niederscherli. Via Oberbalm and Borisried, you reach the deeply cut Bütschelbach ravine. From there it goes steeply up to Hinterfultigen, then along the road towards Vorderfultigen. After the Riedstettwald forest, the landscape scene changes spectacularly: whereas previously the hills of Schwarzenburgerland dominated, now the entire Gantrisch mountain range lies before your eyes in all its glory like on a serving platter. With this magnificent panorama, the path gently descends towards Rüeggisberg.
