Description

Sörenberg and Flühli, connected through the Waldemmental, form the best-known and largest winter sports resort in the canton of Lucerne. Those who want to avoid the hustle and bustle in the winter hotspot Sörenberg will find a great winter sports offer in Flühli including tranquility and fantastic views.

Flühli is one of the pioneers of winter sports in Lucerne: in December 1945, the first T-bar lift in the canton began operation here. The Thorbach ski area was the venue for the only alpine World Cup race in Central Switzerland to date. The ski lifts operated for the last time in the 2023/2024 winter season. The winter sports offer in Flühli still convinces with winter walks, snowshoe tours, a cross-country ski trail, and starting points for ski tours.

The Thorbach cross-country ski trail, near the former ski lift valley station, is 2 kilometers long and located in easy terrain. It is groomed for skating and classic techniques. The trail may also be used in the evenings but is no longer illuminated. In the moonlight and equipped with a headlamp, the trail is perfect for a cozy round after sunset.

Use of the trail is free.
