The winter insider tip trail to Faulhorn W5

This route, with a length of 21 kilometers and 1688 meters of elevation gain, starts in the center of Grindelwald. Via the terrace path, you reach Rasthysi. It continues with a steady ascent and descent over Nodhalten towards the Mountain Inn Waldspitz. The sunny terrace with a view of the Eiger invites you to linger before continuing along the toboggan path over the snowy Alps of Bachläger to Bachalp Lake. The winter hiking trail then leads further to the Faulhorn (2681 m above sea level). Here, you tackle the descent to Bussalp on the longest toboggan run in Europe (15 kilometers). Those who still have energy and want to extend the round can also run over Rasthysi, Nodhalten to Bort and take the gondola there to Grindelwald. Alternatively, you can take the bus or rent a sled at Bussalp to return to the village.
