The gourmet route. “Lake Biel” round

In the first half you gain altitude. In the second half, you move quickly. Shortly after the start, turn left in Nennigkofen towards Lüterkofen. After the first climb, the path leads through the picturesque Bibertal valley to Schnottwil and further via Diessbach near Büren to Lyss and Aarberg. You ride a short stretch along the Old Aare. At the west end of Aarberg, you cross the Hagneck Canal. Since the Jura water correction, it diverts the Aare into Lake Biel. Before Lüscherz, the road climbs again. Close to the lake yet invisible. From Erlach, St. Peter’s Island can be reached via the Heidenweg. Jean-Jacques Rousseau spent a happy time here. From Le Landeron, the landscape is defined by vineyards. Pinot Noir and Chasselas invite you to linger and enjoy. Biel/Bienne, the bilingual town with French charm. The southern foot of the Jura is shaped by the watch industry. On the long straights, you make good progress. Pieterlen – Lengnau – Grenchen. Shortly before Selzach, take a last detour to the stork village Altreu. Back in Solothurn, just shy of the hundredth kilometer.
