Description

From the Hinterbergen mountain station, you immediately enter the bright beech forest on a somewhat rough mountain path, where the Steigelfadbalm Bear Cave is hidden. After the detour there (an information board shows the exciting bear history), you soon enter the open terrain of Gäbetswil. From there, Bürgenstock looks like an ocean liner thawed on the shore of Lake Lucerne. Soon you reach — admiring the rare vegetation along the path — Mittlerschwanden. It is worthwhile to hike further up through the Schnuertobel to Grubisbalm. There is another cave — the largest on the Rigi.

Notes

You can find the current operating status of the cable cars and hiking trails here.

So that future generations can also enjoy the Queen of the Mountains, we kindly ask you to dispose of your waste at the stations of the Rigi Railways. Thank you.
