Description
A varied hike around Thalheim: Starting the route at the Staffelegg pass, high above Aarau, you follow the Jura ridgeway with views over the gently green hilly landscape. Above Thalheim, you leave the ridgeway and turn off towards the ruin: Here, a beautiful view into the valley and a fire pit await. Afterwards, you follow the hiking trail past vineyards down into the Jurapark village of Thalheim. The Schenkenberg valley with the municipalities of Thalheim AG, Schinznach, and Veltheim is known for its traditional autumn Metzgete (meat feast) – but a stop at one of the Thalheim restaurants is worthwhile all year round. The return to Staffelegg leads uphill via Schlatt and Rischeln.
