Description
A popular tour that can be shortened as desired. The tour starts in Tenero and follows the lake towards Locarno. Along the way, you pass numerous villas, including the former barracks "Cà di Ferro" from the 16th century, an important historical monument. A little further on, you reach Rivapiana, known for its inviting gardens and small sandy beaches. You will also see the San Quirico Church, located in the park of the same name. The lakeside promenade of Muralto is lined with many restaurants. Passing by the Locarno harbor, you arrive at the beautiful Jean Arp Gardens, which feature some of his sculptures. Continuing through the Parco della Pace, you reach the Camellia Park, home to over 900 camellia varieties. The route follows the Maggia River, crossing it on the pedestrian bridge. The path then winds through charming alleys, leading to the picturesque lakeside promenade of Ascona. A staircase takes you up to a scenic hiking trail that leads to Ronco s./Ascona.
