Description
The route starts in Lucerne, from where the group takes a bus to the base station of Pilatus. Then you go up to the summit with the aerial cableway, where a panoramic view of the surrounding mountain landscape and Lake Lucerne opens up.
Once at the top, an easy hike leads to Tomlishorn, the highest point of Pilatus at 2,132 meters above sea level. With some luck, ibexes can be spotted along the way. During the hike, the guide provides exciting information about the mountain, its flora and fauna, as well as its well-known legends, including the tale of the Pilatus dragons.
After the approximately one-hour hike, the cable car takes you back to Fräkmüntegg, where lunch is prepared over an open fire. Afterwards, the return journey continues by cable car to Kriens and then by bus back to Lucerne.
The guided hike is offered only in English.
