Sunnbüel - Gemmipass

The Sunnbüel aerial cableway takes you from Kandersteg to Sunnbüel where the hike begins. Take on the historic path to Gemmipass, which was an important traffic connection between the cantons of Bern and Valais several hundred years ago. First a short descent to the plain "Spittelmatte", then the ascent to the Schwarenbach mountain hotel follows. The hike continues towards Daubensee and finally to the destination, Gemmipass (2322 m above sea level). Here you will be rewarded with an impressive view of the Valais Alps. The same route can now be hiked back or you can take the Gemmi railway down to Leukerbad, to reach Kandersteg by bus or train.
