Description

The start of this bike route in the heart of the Beverin Nature Park is the Walser village of Sufers. The ascent of about 1000 meters in altitude requires some stamina, but is ultimately entertaining. Soon the tree line is surpassed and the view opens up to the deserted Steilertal, up to Rheinwald, over to the Splügen Pass – and finally to the high plateau with the picturesque Lai da Vons. Now mobilize your reserves again: The last hundred meters in altitude to the Cufercal hut are challenging.

The welcome at the Cufercal hut is always warm. The view invites cheerful mountain peak guessing. Strengthened by a snack of local delicacies and a piece of homemade cake, it's back on the bike. Almost 1500 meters of altitude thrill await, spread over just over ten kilometers of distance. First along the gentle alpine meadows towards Promischur. A detour to this picturesque Maiensäss settlement is definitely worth it. From Pastgaglias onwards, we follow the white-red-white hiking trail markings, entering sometimes lighter, sometimes denser coniferous forest. This mountain trail was previously used for transporting mountain hay. The built-up and still intact path widenings on the steeper parts of the mountain testify to ancient trail-making craftsmanship. Curve by curve, the grin on your face gets wider: the way down to Andeer is not technically very difficult and soon elicits cheers from the smoothly flowing descent.

At the delightful end on the terrace of Café Iselin or Hotel Post in Andeer, you can comfortably wait for the next post bus homewards.
