Description

Past large fruit tree plantations we reach the highest point of our hike at the wildlife observation stand with information boards about native animal species. The large forest playground and barbecue area Tännligarten offers play opportunities for all ages with a zip line, a giant swing, a suspension bridge and much more. At the end of our hike we are greeted by aviaries with exotic birds.

From the Sissach Voregg bus stop we walk about 100 m back on the road and then turn onto the little road towards Isleten. The white signposts of the Upper Baselbieter vineyard trail accompany us from here to Sissach. The path steadily climbs alongside the fruit tree plantations and becomes steeper further up. At the field barn below Isleten we turn right. In this area, the path has been partially repaired with coarse gravel. Soon we come across a wildlife observation stand that shows us pictures of native animals and informs us about their way of life. Now it goes past a small pond biotope downhill only. Where the hiking trail from the Bischofstein ruin joins our route, we cross the downhill slope of a "Bike Endless Trails". Great caution is required here! Soon the forest playground Tännligarten invites with many play devices supported and held by tall, strong fir trees. Older children also get their money’s worth here. Our hike continues on the wide marl path. From the forest edge we can follow the yellow signage again. Passing the Bergweg bus stop we reach the Ergolz. Here the Exotic Association maintains aviaries where various colorful bird species can be admired. After the bridge the hiking trail branches off from the main road and leads through the town center to the Sissach train station.
