Description
This hike is especially attractive in summer. After a short distance in the residential area, we reach the cool Schachletetal. A small creek and rock niches along the path offer play opportunities for children. The barbecue area as well as the playground above Laufen are located in the forest.
The PostBus takes us in four minutes from Laufen to the Röschenz village square stop. We head towards Schachlete and shortly arrive at a well-equipped playground. After the children have explored the climbing tower with slide and other equipment, we continue our hike. We leave the trail and turn left into Rübackerstrasse. On the way towards our destination, along the residential area, we gently ascend to the edge of the Hinterfeld plateau. Here begins the descent into the Schachletetal. After the curve in the valley floor, the path quality worsens briefly. At the Schachlete signpost, a particularly romantic and pleasantly cool path section begins in summer. A moss-covered floodplain forest, water-formed rock formations from millennia ago, and occasionally a small creek line the path. At the Vitaparcours, we leave the valley floor and reach the Brumberg hill. Past a barbecue site with a fountain, we come to another playground. Because the marked hiking trail leads down a long staircase into the town, we go left at the forest corner. At the hospital, we meet the yellow signposts again, which lead us to the old town at Untertor. We stroll through the wide main street with stately townhouses and inviting cafés to Obertor and shortly after reach Laufen train station.
