Stage 11 Via Glaralpina - Ibex safari in a diversity of flowers

An early wake-up is worth it at the mountain guesthouse Obbort (1048 m above sea level). Not only because of the magnificent view of the Tödi in its full glory. The stage to the Muttseehütte SAC is steep, and a stay in the upper part of the stage is definitely worthwhile: Because up here you will quite often spot ibexes. From the mountain guesthouse Obbort, the mountain hiking trail leads over the “step,” partly steep and exposed sections secured with chains, to Alp Baumgarten (1600 m above sea level). The alp offers again a wonderful view of the highest Glarner. From here it goes up to Chalchtrittli (1875 m above sea level), this section is also secured with chains, and then over the mountain hiking trail to the Muttseehütte SAC (2501 m above sea level). And if you are quiet and attentive here, you may soon see them: The ibexes of the Muttsee area.
