Description

The Obersee (982 m above sea level) wonderfully reflects the landscape early in the morning. From here, the third stage leads over the Grapplialp (1359 m above sea level) directly to the Rautispitz – or else always further towards Rautialp, past the stately larches above the Rautihütten (Rautihüttli – if you stay overnight here / route from here) and past Schratten limestone fields up to the Rautifurggel (2166 m above sea level). The short detour to the summit of the Rautispitz (2283 m above sea level) is worth it (about 30 min round trip). The vertical view over Näfels-Mollis and far over the Glarus region is breathtaking. The short alpine stage from the Rautispitz to the Wiggis (2281 m above sea level) again offers a vertical view of the village of Netstal 1800 meters below. After that, it is mostly steep downhill to Aueren-Mittelstafel. From here, the mountain hiking trail continues past the Alp Dejen (1730 m above sea level), again steeply downhill, to Rodannenberg (Klöntal) (850 m above sea level). The swim in the deep blue Lake Klöntal is well deserved.
