Stage 01 Via Glaralpina - Summit experience high above the Linth plain

The Via Glaralpina starts at Ziegelbrücke station (424 m a.s.l.). For about 15 minutes, the yellow-marked hiking trail leads along the main road to Niederurnen to the municipal office, then over the bridge at Dorfbach and through the inviting vineyards to Restaurant Schlössli (492 m a.s.l.). “Ds Schlössli,” a beautiful viewing point in a historic location, already invites you to linger before the marked path continues via Morgenholz towards Hirzli (1639 m a.s.l.) and Planggenstock (1674 m a.s.l.). The two viewpoint summits offer a magnificent panoramic view over the Linth plain and the sparkling Walensee. To enjoy. The descent leads via Bodenberg into the Niederurner valley (1179 m a.s.l.) and to the overnight stay in the blockhouse Mättmen/Mättmenriet (reservation required). A wonderful spot between forest and alpine pasture area.
