Description
300 bends lead to Spruga, the last village of the Onsernone Valley and the starting point of this red and white tour. Spruga can be reached by bus or car and is a historically very interesting place. The Onsernone Valley is a steep valley and you notice that right from the beginning. The ascent to Al Piansécc is steep and full of steps. Up through the larches to Alpe Pescéd and then along the Munzzelümm massif to the Laghétt di Salèi mountain lake, where you can cool off on hot summer days. Now descend to Alpe Salèi and the hut of the same name (May-October), also accessible by cable car from Vergeletto (runs May-October), where you have the option of climbing Pizzo Zucchero. The descent to Comologno leads to the pretty and sunny hamlet of Ligünc in the forest. Finally, again over many steps back to the valley. In Comologno the bus runs. Visit the church of San Giovanni Battista and its Stations of the Cross chapels.
