Description

You walk through the Baroque old town past St. Ursen Cathedral and the Art Museum towards Verena Gorge. At the northern end of the wild romantic gorge, Saint Verena is said to have once worked. At the entrance to Rüttenen, the hiking trail branches off towards Galmis, the birthplace of the local author Josef Reinhart (1875-1957). With some luck, you can observe deer here. In Niederwil, you cross the Gumme at the old Oele and reach Riedholz after a short ascent. The Attisholz cellulose plant was once essential for national supply. Today, the former industrial area is a development focus with cultural and culinary attractions. You hike on the southern side of the Aare towards Solothurn. South of Emmespitz, you cross the renaturalized Emme. Shortly before the destination, the Zuchwil sports center invites you to wellness.
