Description

Starting from Falera, which you can reach by car or bus, you glide comfortably up to Curnius by chairlift. Once at the top, a sunny snowshoe trail leads you straight out into untouched nature.

A magnificent view accompanies you throughout the entire tour. You first head west towards Alp Dadens, which in summer is known for its delicious homemade cheese. In winter, however, it is not serviced. But you can still rest against the warm wooden wall of the old alp chalets and enjoy your picnic.

The route then leads through snow-covered forests and across white alpine meadows, descending gently for a while. Take a moment here! The view of the opposite mountain panorama and down into the Surselva is breathtaking. After this, the trail climbs again for just under a kilometre until you return to the Curnius chairlift mountain station. The mountain restaurant of the same name awaits you with hearty dishes and a sun-soaked terrace, before the chairlift takes you comfortably back down to Falera.

In good snow conditions, you can continue descending below Alp Dado, where the route would normally lead back up to Curnius. Route 501 takes you all the way down to Falera, where you unstrap your snowshoes and start your journey home.
