SNOOC - sledding run at Wispile

Description
The gondola takes you comfortably from the traffic-free chalet village of Gstaad up to the Wispile mountain station. Before the fast ride on runners begins, the sled must be pulled to the start for about 40 minutes. The easy hike follows a beautiful panoramic path along the ridge. As "compensation," there is an impressive view of the Spitzhorn, a subpeak of the Wildhorn. At Chrinetritt, it starts off fast. The upper part of the route, also used by winter hikers, is definitely not for the faint of heart. The descent starts immediately steep and brisk; you get real speed and must be careful to catch the tight curves. Rightly, this part of the route is labeled for "experience and adventure sledders." The lower part is somewhat less steep. Along various forest sections, the descent, which takes about an hour to calculate, meanders through mostly open fields.
From the end of the sled run, it is only a few minutes on foot to Gsteig. From there, the post bus returns to the Wispile valley station.
