Description

Coming from Lucerne, the route follows the smallest Swiss lake with scheduled boat trips to the romantic water castle Hallwyl. Accompanied by the Aabach, the historic old town of Lenzburg is soon reached, where another historic landmark towers over the town. The eponymous hill castle is one of the oldest and most important hill castles in Switzerland. Powerful counts, bailiffs and private castle owners once lived here.

Pedaling through Niederlenz, the next castle can already be seen from afar. The baroque castle domain Wildegg lies on the foothills of the Chestenberg and forms an authentic experience site of historical garden and residential culture. Cycling along the Aare continues to the Black Tower in Brugg, where the river is crossed and the ascent to the Bözberg begins. Energy can be replenished at the 800-year-old Linner Linden tree before continuing through the Jura Park Aargau to Stein. Here awaits the longest covered wooden bridge in Europe.
