Description

From the PostAuto stop, cross the Inn directly and reach the small hamlet of San Niclà. At the village exit, by Café Etter, the path turns left and follows the road towards the forest. The first elevation meters are gained over clearings and woods. Always following the road, the path slowly ascends towards the Swiss-Austrian border. Immediately after the border, the hiking trail turns right up through the forest towards Grünsee. The lake lies gently nestled in the forest. Shortly after the eastern end of the lake, a path branches off to the tripoint Switzerland/Austria/Italy; the round trip to the tripoint about 250 meters higher takes around 2 hours. From Grünsee, descend again a little towards the larger Schwarzsee. Schwarzsee invites for a rest with beautiful shore spots and benches right on the shore. From Schwarzsee, a path leads towards Kleinmutzkopf. The route climbs again about one hundred meters through light forests and forest clearings up to Kleinmutzkopf. From there, the descent begins, first westward then towards Nauders through the forest. Just before reaching the valley station of the Kleinmutzkopf chairlift, the trail turns left (towards Norbertshöhe, from where one reaches the PostAuto stop Nauders, Norbertshöhe). Connections from the PostAuto stop run via Martina back to the starting point at Strada i.E., San Niclà, or directly to Scuol, Samnaun or Mals (Vla Müstair).
