Description
From Schwägalp to Potersalp you hike for about 1 hour up and down on a wide hiking trail, where you meet bikers, walkers and hikers. From the Schwizerälpli you then turn off onto the blue-white marked alpine route, which is far less frequented. This 600-metre ascent, which is steep over several rock steps and secured in exposed places with wire ropes, requires easy climbing and a head for heights. The two nostrils that give the route its name stretch out imposingly. At the end of the alpine route, you come to Hintere Öhrligrueb. Breathtaking views and with the destination in sight, you continue on the red and white route via Höchnideri, Rossegg and over the Blau Schnee. Finally, the Himmelsleiter (ladder to heaven) leads to the Säntis. The Säntis cable car takes you down to the starting point at Schwägalp. (The blue-white marked alpine path is fringed with grass clumps, especially at the beginning. In wet conditions there is a danger of slipping).
