Description
From Schwägalp to Potersalp, you hike for about 1 hour on a wide trail with ups and downs, where you meet bikers, walkers, and hikers. From Schwizerälpli, you then turn onto the blue-white marked alpine route, which is much less frequented. These 600 vertical metres, which are steep over several rock steps and secured with wire ropes in exposed places, require light climbing and being free from dizziness. The two namesake nostrils stretch impressively. At the end of the alpine route, you reach Hintere Öhrligrueb. Breathtaking views and with the goal in sight, you continue hiking on the red-white route via Höchnideri, Rossegg, and over the Blau Schnee. Finally, the Himmelsleiter leads to Säntis. With the Säntisbahn you float down to the starting point Schwägalp. (The blue-white marked alpine path is mainly enclosed with tufts of grass at the beginning. When wet, this causes slipping hazard!)
