Schüpfheim Panoramic Tour

The Schüpfheim panoramic tour starts at Schüpfheim train station and follows the signs of bike route 816 along the entire route. It first follows a short stretch along the road until you cross the Kleine Emme. Through the Luswald, you ride up towards Gmeinwärch. Then it goes past the Hof Obstalde uphill and downhill towards Habschwanden. After crossing the Kleine Emme again, the tour leads through the Chilewald back to Schüpfheim train station.

Important info / closure of hiking & bike path: The Balmoos in Hasle is a raised bog of national importance and a habitat for rare animal and plant species. Peat extraction and drainage have dried out the bog, so that today it is endangered in its important functions as a habitat and CO2 storage. Now the water retention is being improved with structural measures. During the construction work until the end of October 2025, the hiking trail is closed on weekdays during working hours.
