Schauenburger route

From Frenkendorf station, the route leads over the Adler. Before the steep climb before the Horn, a stop can be made at the idyllic forest rest area Talhölzli. The area around Schönmatt is especially beautiful in spring when the trees bloom. Those who want to enjoy a wonderful view take the detour to Schartenflue in Gempen and climb the Gempenturm or make a culinary stop on the terrace of the Bärgbeiz Gempenturm. The fantastic view stretches from Unterbaselbiet far into the Sundgau. After the village of Gempen, the route steadily goes downhill towards Sichtern and through the Bintal past Schillingsrainhof (don't miss the ice cream stop at the farm shop) back to Frenkendorf.
