Schächen Valley Bike - 416 SwitzerlandMobility
Informationen zur Route
Description
Passing Bürglen, Wilhelm Tell’s birthplace, you climb steadily along the Klausenpass road through the long Schächen valley. Hewn out the rock, the road along the “Lini” (mountain line) is most impressive. More than 400 m down, you see the hamlet of Aesch with its 90-metre waterfall. The unpaved road constituting the Schächen valley high-level trail is peppered with panoramic views of the mountains and pretty alp settlements. Make sure you purchase some Uri cheese from one of the many alp herdsmen on the way. The following rollercoaster ride with splendid views of the Schächen and Reuss valleys is a real thrill. Short, sharp climbs on this leg of the tour will keep your pulse racing, while the mountain inns along the route provide opportunities for refreshment and rest. After the idyllic Steinselez valley, there is a final ascent to Lake Flesch before you tackle the exciting downhill ride via Eggberge and the Altdorf protective forest.
