Description
Right at the doorstep begins the walking path where past scenes can be explored. The Sarmenstorf history trail leads from Heiligkreuzkirche to the Wendelinskapelle and then gently ascending to Zigiholz, where burial mounds from the Bronze Age lie. From there it’s only a short walk to the remains of the Roman villa Murimooshau. Those who wish can make a detour to the so-called Heidenhübel, a fortified noble castle from the Middle Ages. The round is completed by the detour through the village to Langenmoos, where in the 4th millennium BC a Stone Age settlement existed. In about an hour of walking, you can cover 5000 years of Sarmenstorf's history.
