Description

Conveniently take the cable cars from St. Moritz village up to Piz Nair, the local mountain of St. Moritz, at 3059 meters above sea level. A short break at the Panorama Restaurant is worthwhile not only because of the fantastic panorama of the surrounding 3000-meter peaks and the Bernina group, but also serves for acclimatization, because after that a single trail fireworks show of the highest class starts. After an 800-meter warm-up on the piste track, you reach the entry to the single trail to Fuorcla Schlattain and down through the Val Schlattain to Lej Alv. Then follows a flat section leading to a short pushing section, 80 meters below Chamanna Saluver. The following trail section to the mountain station of the Trais Fluors chairlift is consistently rideable and overcomes another 200 vertical meters. The subsequent traverse directly below the three rock noses, after which the mountain is named (Trais Fluors = three flowers), leads to the Selin mountainside with an impressive view of the Engadin high plateau and the Bernina valley. The following trail via Padella and Alp Muntatsch to Samedan is hardly describable, you have to ride it. From Samedan, it goes back along the main road to Celerina or St. Moritz.

HOME OF TRAILS

By the way, Danny MacAskill and Claudio Caluori start their road trip through Graubünden on Piz Nair. Seen in the video "Home of Trails".
