Description
You can comfortably reach the local mountain of St. Moritz, Piz Nair, by the Chantarella/Corviglia funicular and the Piz Nair aerial cableway. Before descending on the hiking trail to Lej Suvretta, it is worth enjoying the magnificent view over the Upper Engadin lake district. From Lej Suvretta, the route leads along the opposite slope marked in red over rocky steps steeply up to Fuorcla Suvretta, where you are welcomed by a large cairn and a breathtaking view. Over moraine debris and grassy slopes, you reach the hollow of Traunter Ovas. After crossing the northern slope of Piz Traunter Ovas, you cross the glacier stream Vadret d'Agnel and, in a wide arc after a short ascent, reach Chamanna Jenatsch, the highest SAC hut in Graubünden. Here you can recharge your energy with fine, hearty delicacies for the long descent. Freshly strengthened, you first hike through sparse vegetation along the rushing Beverin to Tegia d'Val, and from there for a longer time through lush, flowery alpine meadows and bright Swiss pine and larch forests to Spinas. Now you can stroll leisurely from the valley to Bever.
