Snowshoe hike on the border between Italy and Switzerland, for those who want to walk long on snow always on easy and very easy terrain.

In late season the valley road of Val d'Avigna might be clear in the lower part, reducing snowshoe travel, but taking away a bit the pleasure of traveling this long and solitary valley.

Therefore, with km and elevation gain in the legs – in my opinion – it is better to go in the earlier part of winter.

The "snowshoe plan" is by no means dangerous in itself, but in some stretches the steep lateral slopes can release snow that might cross the travel line.
