Panoramic hike from Mülenen to the Niesen

Description
From the valley station in Mülenen at 692 m above sea level, follow the hiking trail along the route of the Niesen cable car. The hiking trail winds mainly through the forest up to the Schwandegg mid-station at 1,669 m above sea level. In summer, it remains pleasantly cool in the shade of the trees. If you want to take it easier, we recommend taking the Niesen cable car for the first 1,000 meters of elevation gain. From the Schwandegg mid-station, there are two options: either the direct, somewhat steeper hiking trail in about 2 hours to the Niesen, or the slightly longer, less steep path of about 3 hours via the Oberniesen alp to Cheesbödi and further to the Niesen at 2,362 m above sea level. Once at the top, the Berghaus Niesen Kulm offers seasonal and regional delicacies and a scenic sun terrace. The nostalgic Niesen cable car then brings you back to the starting point in Mülenen on a 30-minute ride.
