ORTOVOX route tip: Wildgärst (2,890m)

From Schwarzwaldalp via the SE side

Blue sky, bright sunshine and the perfect ski touring day: About 200 vertical meters below the parking lot (Schwarzwaldalp, 1455) we have to leave the car because of the heavy snow and start from here.

First through the forest, then relatively quickly into open, flat terrain. In front of us: The Eiger, which is gradually being enveloped by a dense bank of clouds. After some small alpine pastures, we keep slightly right and continue climbing. Following the stream uphill to Hagelseeli.

From Hagelseeli, we head briefly westwards, then follow the summer path. The path finally leads over the southwest flank to the summit.
