Description
From Biel/Bienne station past the main post office towards the Jura slope and across the Schüss. After passing under the railway line, turn left to the valley station of the Magglingen funicular. A little westward begins the zigzag ascent with stairs to the pavilion. On the way to Vingelz, incorporated into Biel in 1899, the southern-like view down to the lake and the diverse flora delight the senses. Now past the forest clearing Berghüsli, then up to the bird-protected high plateau of Gaicht. Avoiding most of the Twannberg road, steep descent to Twann. The old village center with joined winemaker houses and paved village street gives the place a medieval character.
