Description

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe embarked on his third Swiss journey in 1797. From Weimar via Frankfurt and Stuttgart, the route also led through the Hegau and to the Rhine Falls near Neuhausen. His destination was Stäfa, where he visited his friend - a painter named Heinrich Meyer - to urge him to continue teaching at the ducal drawing school in Jena.
