Nature & Culture Route

The first highlight of the route is the picturesque wine country village of Marthalen, which welcomes you after a short climb with its charming half-timbered houses. From there, the path leads on to Rheinau, where the monastery island sits like a jewel in the Rhine loop. For the next few kilometers, the river is always by your side. Then the landscape opens up to the wild, untouched Thurauen – the largest floodplain landscape in the Swiss Midlands. At the Naturzentrum Flaach, you immerse yourself in the secrets of this fascinating habitat. Finally, the route takes you through the Flaachtal back to Andelfingen.
