Mountain route to Kronberg

From the train station in Jakobsbad (870 m), we walk past the valley station of the Kronberg cable car. This way, we hike cost-effectively with a view of Kronberg towards Urnäsch via Lauftegg to the Blattendürren mountain inn. From Guggeien (1,138 m), it goes steeply uphill, but secured by a wire cable through the forest and then through a man-high tunnel in the Nagelfluh rock to Spitzli (1,519 m). Along the easy ridge, we walk with a great view in steady ups and downs over the High Petersalp towards Kronberg (1,663 m), with a wonderful panoramic view from Säntis to Lake Constance. An even higher viewpoint is held by the many paragliders launching from the ridge. Up to the Scheidegg mountain inn, we remain always at an altitude above 1,400 meters and then descend knee-friendly and with an even gradient back down to Jakobsbad.
