Description
The starting point of the Loo Forest Educational Trail is located below the Försterhaus by the Loobächli in Frauenfeld. 30 information boards inform families about tree and shrub species, as well as forestry and local wildlife. Families first walk along a forest road to the hamlet of Bühl.
Then, along a narrow footpath, they continue to a cistern that recalls the former water supply. After the well chamber, families cross the road and climb the stairs to the Fuchshalde. From here, children and parents enjoy the view of Frauenfeld and the lower Thurtal.
Next, they proceed to a small wetland, where frogs, dragonflies & co. might be spotted. Especially beautiful to see in summer is the poor meadow below the Fuchshalde, which impresses with its diversity of flora and fauna.
Once again, families must cross the country road to return to the starting point via the field path and the ravine.
